Israel was both the best trip I've ever taken and the hardest trip I've ever taken. I wouldn't consider myself sheltered in any way, shape, or form. Living in the United States, a relatively stable country, has however sheltered me from the ongoings in this part of the world. Yes, I've heard about Israel and yes, I understand the conflict. But doing some research on Google is in no way comparable to experiencing the conflict personally.
